Pre-Tryout Open Practices will be held on Sunday May 20th, 9-11 @ EG Farms and Sunday May 27th, 5-7 @ Salmon Brook Park Field 2.  All interested players are invited to attend.

We encourage all eligible Granby and East Granby players to try out for these teams, but please understand that players will be selected to join the teams based on regular season play, coaches feedback, and the assessments at tryouts.  This is a wonderful opportunity for players to continue their growth in a highly competitive environment.  The goal for these teams is to compete at the highest level possible.  Playing time will follow Little League Baseball tournament standard and not driven by local regular season rules.

10/11/12 Team Eligibility – The player needs to be baseball league age 10, 11 or 12, and must be playing at the Majors level in the Spring regular season.  The player must have played 60% of his team’s regular season games. For example: if the team played 15 games (standing, non-standing and playoffs) then the player needs to have played in 9 games. The player must be a Granby or East Granby resident as of 2/1/18 or attend a school in Granby or East Granby.

9/10/11 Team Eligibility –The player needs to be baseball league age 9, 10 or 11, and must be playing at the AAA or Majors level in the Spring regular season.  The player must have played 60% of his team’s regular season games. For example: if the team played 15 games (standing, non-standing and playoffs) then the player needs to have played in 12 games. The player must be a Granby or East Granby resident as of 2/1/18 or attend a school in Granby.

8/9/10 Team Eligibility – The player needs to be baseball league age 8, 9 or 10, and may be playing at the AA, AAA or Majors levels in the Spring regular season.  The player must have played 60% of his team’s regular season games. For example: if the team played 15 games (standing, non-standing and playoffs) then the player needs to have played in 9 games. The player must be an Granby resident as of 2/1/18 or attend a school in Granby.

Availability – The players selected are expected to participate in all practices and games of the District 6 tournament.  There will be practices beginning after June 1st but regular season practices and games take precedence.  Number of practices per week can vary, but you can expect higher commitment for practice days and duration than you experienced during the regular season.  Teams will typically have between 4 and 6 events every week during the duration of the Tournament.  Tournament games will start on or about June 25th with a minimum of four games during the pool play round, followed by a double elimination round for the District 6 title.  You can expect tournament dates to possibly last throughout July and longer if a team is successful in advancing. It is expected that players will be available during the practices & tournament times so please consider this commitment seriously as it is a family decision.

The following must be present at the time of the tryouts:

  • List of any conflicts that the player may have during the practice/tournament schedule - selection of players will be based on availability.
  • Paperwork - Required documentation to be brought is as follows:
  • Original and copy of birth certificate
  • Little League® Baseball School Enrollment Form http://www.littleleague.org/Assets/forms_pubs/school-enrollment-form.pdf
