Welcome to the Granbeast website!

Dear East Granby/Granby Little League Community,

The East Granby/Granby Little League Executive Board is excited to welcome the upcoming 2019 baseball/softball season.  As we enter our second year, we are proud to announce that the merger has gone about as smoothly as we could have ever hoped and we look forward to making even more progress over the next couple of years.   We have begun several exciting capital improvement projects in both Granby as well as East Granby.  We believe that these projects will greatly improve the baseball/softball experience for our young ball players.  We will announce the specifics of these projects in the coming weeks.  Additionally, we have listened to our community with regards to some of the feedback we received last season and have made improvements to our registration process, our volunteer process as well as other critical aspects of EGGLL.

On a different note, I regretfully announce that two long-time members of the East Granby and Granby Little League Community, Tim Heinze and Heather Popella, have stepped down from the Board this year.  Both Tim and Heather have been involved with Little League for many years and their contributions have been instrumental to the present success of our league. The Board thanks both of them greatly for their contributions and wishes them success in their current endeavors.

Registration for the 2019 EGGLL season is now open.  Please be mindful that our open registration period ends on March 1, 2019.  After March 1, 2019, a late fee will be assessed to any player who registers at the Farm, AA, AAA and Majors divisions.

You will notice as you register your child for baseball/softball this season that a $50 (per family) volunteer fee will be automatically assessed at time of registration.  This is a refundable fee which will be returned to each family upon successful completion of your volunteer requirement.  Please visit our “Volunteer Info” tab on our website for additional information on how to satisfy this requirement.

Lastly, please return to our website periodically as we continue to update our site with information that is important to parents, players, coaches and volunteers.

On behalf of the East Granby/Granby Little League Board, I want to thank our baseball/softball community for keeping your children involved with the greatest sport on earth!!

MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of East Granby/Granby Little League is to provide a safe, instructional and fun environment for our children to learn the values of sportsmanship, teamwork and respect.  We will complete this by:

VISION STATEMENT: To build character, courage, and loyalty in all our athletes and become the model Little League program in the state of CT.

MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of East Granby/Granby Little League is to provide a safe, instructional and fun environment for our children to learn the values of sportsmanship, teamwork and respect.  We will complete this by:

·        Inspiring performance and improvement on the field

·        Lead thru personal baseball and softball successes and failures

·        Educating our youth to be responsible with the talent given them

PHILOSOPHY: The philosophy of our program is more akin to a recreation league than a “travel” team where players have to try out to qualify to play in the league.  To that end, our primary focus is on the development of our players, while providing a fun and safe atmosphere. However, we also strive to ensure that as our players move into the more senior leagues, we provide a level of play that is challenging and competitive for players that hope to continue in baseball/softball in the future.  We accomplish this by focusing on learning the basics and having fun in t-ball, farm, and AA, which are considered our instructional levels.  At AAA, we add some additional skills and begin to keep standings, thus introducing a competitive component to the sport.  Majors is the last year on the smaller little league diamond for baseball, and in both baseball and softball, this is our most competitive year.  However, we always put skill development, teamwork, and having fun before competition.
